Price: 29.99$
This lamp was bought under this special offer from http://GearBest.com.
First I bought this model without a built-in battery https://www.gearbest.com/table-lamps/pp_715458.html with the coupon (at the time of purchase, the price was $29.99 with the discount of the coupon). But then, a few days later, there was a promotion for a model with a battery, and I couldn't help it. And as it usually works, GearBest had already managed to send the previous lamp, so I had no time to cancel the order. But the price was good, so I wasn't upset.
Unboxing
The parcel arrived in an usual zip package, without a bubble wrap.
The package wasn`t practically damaged by shipping, although there is slight bruising on the sides.
On the box there is an information about the model and its key features.
There is an additional construction inside the package that allows to fix the lamp and gives additional rigidity to the box.
The complete set includes the lamp itself with the protective package, an UBS-microUSB cable for connecting the lamp, and a manual. There is no USB charger.
The manual performs is a well-made, but in Chinese and is designed for two models: A YLTD01YL (without a battery) and YLD02YL (with a built-in battery).
In fact, these lamps are twins – the only difference is the battery, they are externally identical.
The USB/ MicroUSB cable to power the lamp and recharge the built-in battery/
Touch buttons:
The buttons react to touch, not pressure. Thus react both to fingers and items. They react clearly, without spontaneous modes switching.
There is a microUSB power connector aback.
The lamp is designed in a minimalist way. Each element is completely white. The base of the lamp and a diffuser (a bowl shade) are made of plastic. Casing of the flexible lamp body is made of fairly dense white rubber. The ends of the flexible casing are well fixed, therefore, there are no cracks at the points of contact of the casing with the plastic parts by any curve of the lamp.
The lamp easily takes any curve and holds it confidently.
The bowl shade is closed with the diffusor mounted on the latches. Underneath, there are 2 types of LEDs – warm and cold glow at the same number. In the sum, there are 60 LEDs.
There is a mode switch on the bottom of the lamp – on the built-in battery or from network.
Let`s check the current consumption of the Xiaomi Yeelight YLTD02YL lamp.
0.21 A is consumed in the off state, which is spent to charge the battery (red light glows under the power button, more on this later).
0.75 A is consumed in the on state.
The charging indicator is barely visible, light is not bright red, clearly under the power button. It glows only when the battery is getting charged. When the battery is charged, the glow is disabled.
Let`s compare Xiaomi Yeelight YLTD02YL RECHARGEABLE with Xiaomi Yeelight YLTD01YL STANDARD.
They look completely identical. Visually, the only difference is the operation mode switch on the bottom of the lamp.
The weight of the YLTD01YL model is 617 gr.; the weight of YLTD02YL model with the battery is 658 gr.
Also the common picture with Xiaomi Mijia Smart LED Desk Lamp, which was reviewed previously http://all-coupons.biz/review/119/. The bases of the lamps is completely the same. Structurally, this lamp is a little higher and bigger than the other ones.
Disassembly of the Xiaomi Yeelight YLTD02YL LED Table Light
To disassemble the lamp we should have 7 screws unscrewed that are under anti-skid feet and under the characteristics label.
The base of the lamp is a thick round metal plate about 1.5 mm thick. It creates weight for the stability of the lamp.
The center is a Li-ion 2000 mAh 3.7 v, 7.4 Wh battery with the date of manufacture - 18.08.2017. There is nothing to be fresher. The date is also shown by the QR code on the battery.
QR codes on the boards are likely to show just the serial numbers of the boards 71255538H9543N10, 71245538H8QEQE10. Some more photos from other angles.
Conclusion
A few things about the lamps. They have no WiFi/Bluetooth support for the control via MiHome (unlike http://www.gearbest.com/table-lamps/pp_363779.html)
Touch buttons are hardly to be felt, so you have to find them for memory in the dark. In this case, It would be more comfortable to use a locking knob such as by Xiaomi Mijia Smart LED Desk Lamp. Or the led under the power button could have been done to light constantly, as at the time of charging. But it would pull a constant flow of energy.
Mode settings are saved when disabled and when turning on the lamp the last mode is switched on. The lamp is confident on the surface, without any pretensions to overturn.
Overall, I am completely satisfied with the two lamps. And I can safely recommend them for purchasing as the well-made Xiaomi products.
