I've been using the MiBand2 fitness bracelet https://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_362705.html for a long time, and I'm fully satisfied with it. Long story short, there are key advantages that are important to me:
The device is also good and pleasant to the touch, have plenty of accessories (but in my opinion the original strap is simple, but made in the best way).
But progress doesn't stand still, and Xiaomi has released 2 new models of watches - this one in review (AMAZFIT Heart Rate) and Xiaomi Huami AMAZFIT Bip Lite Version https://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_1126414.html. The main advantage is the color screen that uses electronic ink. This innovation allows the watch to work without recharging for up to 45 days with the screen on all the time. If you use the backlight, the worktime, of course, decrease slightly, but more than a month still remains. I would also like to note the GPS+GLONASS positioning option.
The only downside I noticed was the size. I got used to the subtle MiBand2 forms and when I saw the AMAZFIT Heart Rate Smartband, and even on sale, the choice was a foregone conclusion. Even realizing that I have to charge it more often and there will be no GPS.
A small remark - Xiaomi has already released a lot of fitness bracelets, and many of them are called Xiaomi AMAZFIT. But the models are different. This one has an index of a A1702 model, but it doesn't mean anything. In stores it's sold under the Xiaomi AMAZFIT Heart Rate Smartband name, but I also found under the Xiaomi Amazfit Cor short name, under which it's, by the way, defined in the MiFit app.
Unboxing
The packaging is rather standard for Xiaomi. White glossy cardboard box with a minimum of printing, tightened in transparent packaging plastic.
The model, the serial number and the production date are indicated on the back of the box.
The dimensions of the box perfectly match each other. At the same time, the walls are so thick that even if you stand on the package, I think, nothing will happen to the watch.
After unboxing we can see the watch in a fixing niche. Xiaomi Products are pleasant to unpack, as they pay great attention to the presentation quality, and the first impression also plays an important role in satisfying the purchase.
On the top of the watch there is a fixing film with a painted screen image. It seems like the watch is already on.
The watch is quite narrow and thin, without any bulging parts. On the front part there is a large touch screen, on the inside there is a serial number, a pulse sensor and charging contacts. A watchband is rubber, and is somehow reminds me of the MiBand2. But it's slightly wider, and has a wider clasp. Also in contrast to the MiBand2 the strap isn't removable, and you don't have to remove it to charge the watch.
In addition to the watch, the set also includes an user manual and a charging USB cord.
A few words about the charger. The watch is charged by USB. You don't have to disassemble the watch and remove it from the strap, as it was in the MiBand2. The main and only problem of the MiBand2 was that over time the inner surface of the strap was peeled off, and the watch capsule could fall off and get lost. In general, the original strap was enough for 9-12 months, and then you needed to change it to a new one.
Here there is no such problem. And there is also a charging connector, that's magnetic in compliance with polarity. You just can't connect it incorrectly. You have to bring it to the watch and it clicks on it. Inside the charging connector there are quite powerful magnets that put the watch and the cable together. You have to make some effort to disconnect them.
The manual is only in Chinese, with QR code to download MiFit app, and also with some illustrations of how to use the watch.
Appearance
When I first turned the watch on, everything was in Chinese. I have been upset that I had to go to the 4pdaforum and read how to rewire it. But first I decided to connect it the MiFit software on smartphone. To do so, I removed the "old" MiBand2 (you can't have more than one device at the same time) and connected the new Xiaomi AMAZFIT Heart Rate Smartband. Connection took just a minute, while the device searched for Bluetooth device and connected. After that, the MiFit app immediately offered to update the watch firmware. Of course I agreed, and after the firmware was upgraded, everything was in English (yay!). Further it offered to upgrade some resources for the firmware, and I agreed once more. Something was updated, but in my opinion, nothing has changed.
The watch has easily integrated into the MiFit app, and completely replaced the MiBand2. The old data (history) from the MiBand2 remained in the app. In fact, there are no visual changes in the app never.
In appearance the watch fits comfortably, doesn't hinder movements in any way.
The 1.23" IPS screen has a resolution of 160*80 pixels and displays bright colors at any angle. It's covered with 2.5 D Gorilla Glass 3 with oleophobic coating.
The manufacturer promises water resistance at a depth to 50 meters.
The battery of the device has a capacity of 170 mAh, which is a good rate for its size. One charge is enough for me for 2 weeks of active use including notifications with vibration, daily alarms, time viewing, synchronization with MiFit and so on.
Use
The watch menu uses colorful icons with small captions in English. Menu is obvious and it's hard to get confused in it.
Main screen. You can choose one of the 4 types of main screens, as well as change the color scheme for some of them. The main screen displays the time, date and number of steps for the current day. Some versions also display the weather forecast.
Menu. The screen is fully touch-sensitive, so navigation through the menu goes by scrolling up/down. In order to go to the menu - click on it, to get to the level back - scroll to the right. All gestures are obvious and simple.
The main menu items:
Here are some of the screenshots of the menu items. I didn't take the same type of screenshots, as there are a lot of them, and to understand the appearance of the interface these photos will be enough.
Using the MiFit app, you can customize the watch even more - change or disable menu items, enable alerts and reminders, manage alarms, notify about disconnection and so on. Of the additional options I activated automatically unlock the phone screen, if the bracelet is nearby.
Summary
To say that I am satisfied with the watch is an understatement. I'm happy with it in every way - the great bright screen that's difficult to scratch, ergonomic appearance without protruding parts you can hang on, narrow design doesn't hinder movements in any directions, soft strap, which is well fixed, excellent water resistance, notifications from messengers in Russian and much more. This watch will be a great present or helper for daily use. Now you won't miss phone calls, as you can easily feel the watch vibration from incoming calls even in the noisiest places. Xiaomi AMAZFIT Heart Rate Smartband (Xiaomi Amazfit Cor) fitness bracelet (although it's more a smart watch) turned out to be a convenient and high-quality device that I can safely recommend to buy.
